Building Code Appeals
The South Whitehall Township Building Code Appeals Board is a seven-member Board. It is comprised of volunteers with qualifications in the building, plumbing, electrical, structural engineering, and/or architectural fields. Each of the members are appointed by the South Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners and serve five-year terms or until they are replaced by the BOC. They serve voluntarily without pay.

About the Board
The Building Code Appeals Board is a quasi-judicial Board, and hears appeals related to the construction codes of the Township. The Board currently has Attorney Larry Fox as its Solicitor.
Appeals are made via our application form, which can be obtained at the Municipal Building or from our Forms Page. Applications should be sent to the Inspections Clerk. No contact should be made with the Board members prior to the hearing, except through the Board’s Solicitor. The Building Code Appeals Board generally meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m., in the Township Municipal Building. Applications for an appeal should be received at the Municipal Building no later than noon, fourteen (14) days prior to the meeting date.
