South Whitehall Township, PA
Home MenuJordan Creek Greenway Design
This newly constructed section of the Jordan Creek Greenway Trail will take you from Wehr Mill Road to Route 309, following along the Jordan Creek. Currently, there is no access point from Rt. 309. To access the trail, we kindly ask that you park in the Covered Bridge Park parking lot near Wehr Dam, or on Wehr Mill Road. Happy hiking!
What's Next?
Starting in the Summer of 2020, South Whitehall Township will be working on design and permitting of the trail through Covered Bridge Park. This nearly 1-mile section will connect to the new ‘boardwalk section’ and traverse through the park along the Jordan Creek. A trailhead and parking amenities will provide access for trail enthusiasts.
Happening simultaneously, the Township is working to acquire easements to provide an additional one-mile of trail, headed towards Cedar Crest Boulevard.
The Vision…
Upon completion, the entire Jordan Creek Greenway trail will traverse through four(4) municipality borders and connect many regional parks including: Jordan Park, Jordan Creek Parkway, Covered Bridge Park and the Trexler Nature Preserve. 7-miles of the proposed 14-mile trail will connect the east and west borders of South Whitehall Township. For more information regarding the Jordan Creek Greenway development in South Whitehall, we encourage residents to attend the monthly Parks and Recreation board meetings where the trail is frequently discussed.
Be on the lookout for additional public meetings and other news surrounding this exciting project throughout 2021!
