South Whitehall Township, PA
Home MenuCrime Watch Groups
Retired Officers Richard Altemos and Jeffrey Natysyn, began organizing community watch groups in 1986. These groups have served and continue to serve many purposes including:
- Gathering residents together creating an open line of communication to discussing issues within their neighborhoods.
- Enabling residents to learn about crime trends in their area as well as the rest of the Township.
- Learning how to protect themselves against crime by being informed and making themselves a hard target.
Several groups were formed throughout the years including Kratzer Neighbors Against Crime and Country Crossing Crime Watch that later merged to become Neighbors Are Reporting Crime. N.A.R.C. now encompasses all residents north of Tilghman Street.
N.A.R.C.- (Neighbors Are Reporting Crime)
In May of 1997, after a string of local home burglaries, a group was organized to encompass the residents south of Tilghman Street. Residents Around Dorney Are Reporting as it came to be known was also started by Patrol Officers Altemos and Natysyn.
