We are proud to announce that this project is being completed without using any tax dollars from residents! This project is being completed using open space fees which are one-time charges assessed on new development in order to help pay for improvements to our park facilities and through various grants. We are coming up just short of our goal and have turned to YOU for help through this capital campaign.
For the first time in nearly three decades, since the Field of Dreams project, we are giving residents the opportunity to support a major project in our park system! Over the past five years we have dramatically increased affordable, family-friendly programs and events throughout South Whitehall and the next decade looks even more promising! Now is your chance to show support for your parks and recreation services by making a contribution to our Covered Bridge Park Playground Campaign. Funds raised during this campaign will support the construction of a one-of-a-kind 20,000+ square-foot playground in 2020. This project will not be ‘just another playground’ but will be a focal point in our most historic park. This new playground will incorporate adult fitness equipment, a 100’ zipline, state of the art play structures and large twisting slides unlike anything else in the area.
Together we can build a better tomorrow!
