Explore Covered Bridge Park – Family Fun

From live animals to creek explorations, we have ways for you to get outside, learn something new and even play! South Whitehall Township has partnered with the Wildlands Conservancy to offer these programs for all who wish to join!

All programs are held at Covered Bridge Park, 2466 Wehr Mill Road, Allentown, PA 18104.

All programs require preregistration.



Family Fishing

9:00am – 10:30am

Kids-only fishing fun! Kids get the basics during this environmental educator-led Fishing 101 program. Poles and bait provided. Meet at Pavilion #2.

Get Out! for Wellness: Jordan Creek Greenway at Covered Bridge Park

10:00am – 12:00pm

Presented by the Wildlands Conservancy through a partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network.  Amble along a brand-new boardwalk that skirts the Jordan Creek. There are good bird watching opportunities here, especially at this time during spring migration.

Intro to Snorkeling

6:00pm – 7:30pm

Cool off and explore Jordan Creek with our experienced staff as we experience life below the surface! Explore the rich diversity of fish and macroinvertebrates found beneath the water. Sanitized snorkeling gear and water shoes are provided for this program geared toward all ages six and above.  Cold lemonade and snacks provided.  The creek is typically about knee deep. Please do not wear insect repellent or sunscreen, as it may negatively affect the stream’s flora and fauna.

Meet the owls of the Wildlands Conservancy and learn about their amazing adaptations, followed by a short walk to call in some of the local owls. Meet at Pavilion #1.
